Derby Cover Change?

Make sure you do not overtighten the bolts and distort the derby. Lets the oil drip out and burns up the clutch....don't ask. In my defense, the oem derby had been off several times by me without any issues. The HD branded one with some cool graphic on it was made of cheese. I still have it hanging up in my shop as a reminder 20 years later.

Go to ace hdwr or online and get some decent hardware that doesn't strip out

You forgot to recommend antiseize. Otherwise your screws will be seized in the aluminum, it's just a matter of time.
