Neither are older people...

That's how I'm able to afford my bikes and all my other non-necessities. Oh and dual income no kids.

Inverted forks require a different set of triple tree clamps. I looked at how much parts would be and it will cost you almost 4k for the trees and the forklegs. Thats not including the calipers and other misc parts to make it fit.

Well i am not jumping ship yet. My 2016 still has a lot of life left in her. I am just expressing my disappointment with the direction that the touring line is going in. And this will definitely not be my last bike I’m only 45. Which is why I say I will probably look to another brand when this bike needs to be replaced. Did you guys add up what a new CVO cost out the door? I calculated to be $55,000 and that is before interest on the loan! Also, the new wheels are hideous. The back leaves a lot to be desired. The bags are now some new geometric shape that is not pleasing. And there are no two-tone colors for the regular road guide. I do, however, like the new nose and fairing, and the new infotainment system. Again they just seem to be chasing a different clientele, and it seems to not be me.

Default New Bikes

Not to start a ground war but...

I like the new CVOs. I'm in my sixties. It's not the money either. They are nice bikes.
Its a matter of do I want one bad enough to send over 50 grand on one? No.
There's not a motorcycle in the world worth that and when you get older you're well past the " I got to get that.." phase of your life. At least some of us are.

"I get a kick out some people. No, you're over 40 and HD doesn't give a damn about you anymore. You're not being marketed to. You're either gonna buy the bikes or not. They want to next generation's money."

True, but being in my sixties, that may help explains why everytime I go to my local dealership they keep asking me if I'm interested in trading in my current Harley for a new one. The owner of the dealership is a friend whom I have known since we were kids. Very candid about the current business environment. It's pretty obvious that the current "marketing strategy" is not living up to expectations.

"And news flash, younger people are making more money than ever before because, gasp, computers. We're not afraid of them."

That's true also, our kids make more money than we did,but they are also in more debt too. It's relatively.

And it also explains the current situation as to why dealerships are loaded with new, used, repos and leftover Harleys..
Maybe not afraid, but not many are buying them as proven by Harley corporation earning statements..There are plenty of seats available but not many potential riders are spending their money to sit in them both young and old.Harley should "give a damn" about every demographic of potential customers young and old.

IMO.

the price on this bike, even with all the new advances, is not that much higher than the msrp on my 2019 special was almost 5 years ago. i'd definitely sport it.

I agree this is the winning color combo for the 24 road glide. The White and Black is pretty nice too, but IF I were ordering a road glide today, it would be this combo.

Correct me if I'm wrong. Is it only the CVO models with the inverted forks? That sucks.
FYI:

2024 Sportster S has inverted forks.
2024 Low Rider S has inverted forks.
2024 Low Rider ST has inverted forks.
