There should be no loss of oil as the oil capacity is measured as you would normally.

As for post #2. The discussion is not about the oil pump so far as I can tell.

My incoming police bike doesn’t have a passenger peg or foot board to “hide” the relocated oil filter and mount under, although I am less concerned about aesthetics on this particular bike. It’s more about function than form.

That said, I’m tired of making a mess every time I change the oil filter and will probably end up installing this feature.
Totally agree! If you get one before I do let me know where you installed it and how well it works for you.
My bike has a high flow Screamin Eagle oil pump and I prime the oil filter with every oil filter change to help reduce the time it takes to build up the oil pressure after an oil filter change. Like you I am looking for a better way to perform an oil change without making a mess while at the same time adding a benefit to the bike. One added benefit is a reduce the oil temperature (8 to 10 Deg* F). There are 2 places to mount the relocation filter mount, on the down tube under the Triple tree and just behind the primary.
Still mulling it over.

I've been on forums that only allow praise of their vendors. Its not a good thing for the consumer. The owners of DK seem like good guys that love motorcycles. That doesn't mean I'll like every product they have or agree with everything they say.

Let me place a call to my friend in the Dakotas.

@diablos I believe you installed the down tube model on your Dyna Glide a year or two ago? Thoughts?

I have too. At that point all vendors become questionable.

You are adding longer lines and more oil to a stock pump. Even if you update pump it was built for stock configuration.

Harley did not put of their kind heart oversize pump. Some people even upgrade them.

I am not risking my engine.

Yes this is uneducated opinion because I am not mechanical engineer. But from logic question I think hard to beat

Thanks you for the photos, I like the idea of shorter tubes and a downward looking oil filter so I can fill the oil filter during installation. This will also be behind my lowers and out of sight as well. OK, I now have a plan. Thanks again Cornpipe.

CornPipe did the same thing and he has had no regrets.
