You are over thinking it…
Oil pan is in same spot.
Now that I have seen this not as bad as thought. I thought it was the one where it goes by saddlebags.

This is probably similar to jags cooler ,which you could ask the same questions

I don’t disagree with this statement at all.

I do however take exception to post #2 in the thread. Just uncalled for.

All because the commenter doesn’t like their Tour Pak relocation bracket, which he never even installed, which I ran, and found to perform exactly as advertised.

This man has been a round a long time and sold many relocation kits and coolers.
Not one has ever had an issue.
He has had some health issues in the past and is moving now. But a darn good option to keep in mind.

I've been running a remote filter on my FLHTK since May of 2016. I've put 50k on it in that time. I really enjoy the no mess oil changes. I've installed a half dozen or so on friends bikes with great results. I would say the lines only add about 1/4 of a quart more oil. The lines drain just fine on mine when changing oil.

IIRC, Dan had his relocation kits on the market before DK. I ran his kit on my '02 FLHT and on my '05 FXSTD; installed about 10 years ago. I do like the forward mounting of the DK kit but not changing just for that feature. The filter fills as fast is it did in the stock location, PDQ. I am not big on braided hose and ANP fittings; just not my thing. Fuel line and Oetiker clamps work for me. Dan did not have a direct mount for softails 10 years ago but he sent me several different mounting brackets and I used them to fab up a bracket for the Deuce.

He explained his doubts well there, and in his follow up in #5. He also well articulated his qualifications, or lack of if you will. He is completely entitled to those doubts and concerns.

This forum is an open forum, welcoming questions and concerns, as well answers and confidences. Positives and negatives about the bikes, gear, accessories, etc.

Equally, @DK Custom Products is welcome to weigh in, or not. Totally their choice.

About all that’s expected is no personal attacks, trolling, baiting, bullying, etc. That’s in the forum guidelines as a sticky in the Welcome Forum.

If post are deleted about a sponsor. Can you have any faith in any of the advertising here?

I can be naive, I like to think they would advertise good products for bikers. But I also live in real world, and money is money

Can't answer your question on the relocation kit, but I do agree with a couple of the posters about adding oil to the filter. I too pour some clean oil into the filter before install. I just want to (in my mind) make sure the filter has some oil in at start up to alleviate time needed to fill filter and complete oil flow. If I had the filter relocation on the front like 09fitx, I would probably fill the filter at least 3/4 full of oil and install.
Good Luck on your decision!

My truck has 300k with vertical filter. You do not hear about issues with Harley.

The engines are not dry, they are coated with oil and oil in sump.

I am just going to worry about it
