i installed and used DKs cooler and relocation kit I won't do it again on another bike, just not worth the risk and trouble
Curious what is the risk and trouble? I've been running two of their kits for a few years now with no issues. Installation was easy and changing filters now is a piece of cake. I'm getting ready to order a third kit.
So these oil relocation kits are actually cooling the oil temps? All the time or just when the bike is moving? For as much as they cost I would think a 10 row fan assisted oil cooler would be more effective & not a whole lot more coin? Not trying to be difficult, just wondering what would work better offerall...
HHmmm...for my 2019 FLHTP, I am trying to decide if I want the under the passenger floorboard remote oil filter mount or the down tube mount. Decisions, decisions!
Do both locations accept the stock oil filters for the M8? The M8 oil filter is a little longer than the Twin Cam was.

The cooling effect is an added benefit but not It's main purpose which is to make oil filter changes way less messy. The cooling effect only kicks in when the bike is running using the airstream just like what is cooling the cylinders. If you want true oil cooling than a air/oil cooler is your best bet. It would be nice if someone developed a fuel/oil cooler like we had on the jet engines lol.
Was the issue with the oil cooler or the remote filter mount? What were the issues you had?
lost all my oil
let's make this simple and just assume it was my fault and any other person would likely not make the mistake I made
i routed it wrong, which there really is no wrong way, or right way, they basically tell you to connect it and good luck and if you **** it up, we don't buy you a new engine
the bike was fine, the engine was fine, i just had to reroute the line and hope my new choice was better than my old choice
