The problem with standard screw-type hose clamps isn't their strength.

Hose clamps will dig into the hose if too tight (which a lot of people do).

Also hose clamps don't give an even 360° pressure on the hose/fitting.

They are bulky, and unsightly. Thus the covers offered by DK Customs that make them look like AN fittings.

The convenience of hose clamps makes most people ignore their "issues", and the fact that in a lot of applications, they are good enough...

If I were to use a DK Customs kit, I would use Oetiker pinch clamps in place of the hose clamps. They won't cut into the hose, and they give an even 360° pressure to the hoes/fitting. They are a better performing clamp and look much better IMHO.

The down side to Oetiker clamps is they need a special tool, can be hard to remove, and are one-time use only...

IMHO, AN fittings are superior to both of the clamps in terms of performance, looks, and ease of use....

I just use one of these from local Ace for the clamps.
Works great for pinching them. $8 bucks

You can get a copy of the Oetiker (knipex) 2-jaw crimpers
HERE HERE
... or get the real deal for double that price.

Having that side jaw is helpful

Just talked to DK Custom to find whet the diameter of the hose is (3/8"). So the worm clamp VS the pinch clamp.
Also found out that HD uses the pinch clamps as well on OEM oil coolers
There is an Ace Hardware in my Town so I can start there and see what they have. I wonder if there are black pinch clamps?

I wonder how heat shrink would work in that application?

The MoCo uses Oetiger clamps on several OEM fuel & oil hose applications...

Off the top of my head, they are also used on the fuel tank crossover hose, the oil tank (softail) drain hoses, and the small section of rubber hose on the oil feed hose to the oil pump.
