I got 2022 RKS with 10k miles I got his ride from the moment bike was brand new.
I noticed when I slow down quickly and compress front fork there is a little single clunk. Same thing happen when I accelerate and suspension extends single clunk.
There is no handling problem of any kind bike is bagave nice and steady. Seems like noise is coming from the upper parts of the legs. Head bearing feels nice and tight kinda sound like tins are loose or something but all is tight and nothing seems to be loose. Curious is anyone seen same issue. I have bike from the moment it had 7 miles on it and it was always like that from new.
1. Could be one of the floating rotors. One of mine is a bit looser on my 2019 trike than the other and it make a clunking sound sometimes as low speed.
2. See if you can move one of the rotors with your hand while the bike is stopped. I can grab my rotor with both hands and make it move a little.
3. Mine is not going anywhere but I check them at every oil change.
NOTE:
The above information, while credible, is worth what you paid for it and should not be considered gospel.
Do due diligence, research and have a H-D Field Service Manual before working on your bike.
You will probably have many opinions and suggestions presented; make sure you research the person providing the helpful information as there are some who provide good information that is useful and some who speak out of other orifices with gibberish. You will figure out this quickly.
Grab a friend. Stand up over the bike, grab the front brake, then rock the bike fore/aft as hard as is necessary to reproduce your clunk. Have the friend try and pinpoint where the clunk is coming from.
Thank you for all the suggestions. I will get on this and report back but I feel loose rotor might be it based on suggestions provided so far. How do I fix that? Can I tight the bolts holding rotors or I have to replace it? If I have to replace it do I have to remove the wheel or I can do it while wheel is still in the forks? Is this movement by design or not really?
I tried to move my tank and it is rock solid.
Greatly appreciate the guidance I will keep you posted.
