I’m not much of a “cover” guy, but… I Installed the Ohlins the other day and had to also install the tour pack mounting brackets in order for the reservoir brackets to fit with the supplied spacers. No big deal.. I’ll find some spacer to adjust for without the mounts. But, in the meantime, I picked up the magnetic covers… not minding the hardware so much now.
I do have the same set-up. I had that issue as well, the reservoir brackets will not fit without the QD brackets. There are a couple options, in case you were not aware. Of course the most cost effective will be to add some washers to space out the brackets to use them without the QD hardware. I run a sissy bar when my daughter rides, so it's not been an issue for me. I considered the covers you got, they clean it up.

I think I responded to your thread about new shocks. In March I broke my back in ten places. Money was not an object when it came to comfort. I had the HD 159 (Ohlins also) on my SG. I loved them. These are even better. Much easier to fine tune and get them how I wanted them. You can also hid the gold can if you don't like it, but the look fit the build I was going for, so I display them. These are expensive, but you're not gonna find a better shock.
One thing to keep in mind, seat choice is less important when you get into a shock like this. Pretty much any seat will be comfortable at this point, so I chose the one I did for the lumbar support. It's a win win as far as I'm concerned.

I'm between Ohlins and Legends right now.
BTW........God bless ya getting back in the game after your accIdent!!
Broke it in TEN PLACES.......GOOD GOD!!!!
Echoing others sentiments. Outstanding improvement. Wh8le I haven’t made any adjustments after i installed them and with the semi-generic settings, it’s crazy how great these are or how bad stock is.
coincidentally, a friend just removed his SE Ohlins after a few days… it’s too tall for him now. $1200 if anyone is looking
