Your paying for decent helm joints to start with, and ones that the threads on the joints are opposing, so you can adjust it when still on the bike. Not ones with cheap stamp helm joints that are going to be rattling in a mater of weeks, and both sides threaded same direction, so to adjust, have to pull it off the fixed to points.
The HD units fit the bill nicely, while the sub $30 units on Amazon, junk helm joints to begin with.
that sounds good in theory, but the reality is that the harley shift linkage itself is right hand threads on both ends.
Harley unfortunately does not have them with black joints and hardware, just stainless with the black powdercoated shaft.

I was looking for good heim joints and ended up with $10 per pair ones from Amazon. I didn't find a good brand, that was the right size, with female threads. The Amazon ones are tight and do the job.
Vendors that sell them as upgraded Harley parts don't mention brand names or the country of origin. There's probably a reason for that.
