Default 2 battery tender pigtails?

I picked up a 2011 Street glide and I noted the battery tender wire hanging down from the battery compartment. On another day I was looking around and discovered what looked like another battery tender connection tucked down lower, sort of behind the oil cap. But this one had what kind of looked just like an in line fuse box except it had a small red light on it that was flashing.

Has anyone ever seen anything like this?

Could be an added pigtail for heated gear. The factory tender plug in isn't rated for heated gear as the fuse is rated to low.

This is my guess, since it back by the rider. If it was electronics, I would think by fairing.

My 2012 Ultra Limited has that also. I believe it's for heated gear. I've never used it.

Mine was flashing red, and my battery was low that day and I had to jump it with my Halo. I drained it too much messing with the radio and stuff I guess.

So this is for charging the battery via a Harley charger, not for gear?

If you have to two, one is for something else. Are you sure they are both the same end for chargers? Though I think they make adapters to from charger to heated gear. Maybe some even uses that pig tail, I do not know.

But a bike would not need to battery chargers. Maybe the guy installed it cause the outlet in garage is on that side. Never know with an used bike.

IMHO...

As mentioned by Slingshot383, it is most likely a plug for heated gear....

Or.... it could be a second battery tender plug....

IIRC, the factory started adding a battery tender plug, as part of the factory harness via the accessory fuse, with the addition of the BCM. There are several reports of people adding battery tender plugs to the CanBus bikes, not knowing they already have one as part of the factory harness...

In the time frame your pre-canbus bike was delivered, there were several dealers who added battery tender plugs during dealer set-up. Then tried to sell a battery tender to the original buyer.

Many people, especially people who bought those bikes used from original owners, may not have know that and added their own....
