Default Smart security siren with pager...

Thinking of installing a security siren on my 2024 RG. For those that have used one with the pager, how well did the pager work? Range? Is the pager worth getting or no?

Thanks,
Klammer

Back in 2012, I took my then new 2012 Limited across country on an Upstate NY to San Diego, CA trip. I took my time and was motel hopping along the way.

I added the siren and pager to my TSSM security system.

I always parked where I could see the bike from my motel window, and I would activate the pager from my room, as a systems check. I don't recall ever having a problem.

Granted, this was a 2012 OEM security system. I would expect the newer security systems (BCM) and pagers would work at least as good...

Had one for my '16 RGU, moved it to my '23 RGL and haven't had any issues with it, but... I only use it when on trips because otherwise my bike is on a garage.
Daily use it would probably eat batteries, so at the house I pull the battery. But I've used it at several hotels/motels and it always connected or stayed connected to the bike (can't think of one that I stayed at that was more than 3 stories).
I think they claim a range of a 1/2 mile, that might be a little optimistic unless its unobstructed.
FWIW, if you get one, notice that the battery cover comes off pretty easily, you don't want to loose that. I always keep the pager in its belt clip (to make sure I don't knock the battery cover off), and then in a pocket, because I don't wear a belt, and have a habit of knocking belt clips off when I do use them..

I don’t have a new enough bike for the solution your talking about. However there are now some very inexpensive rotor locks with sirens with movement, there are very nice “AirTag” like devices now that work with Apple find my that don’t tell the thief they are there like an AirTag does. Monimoto also is a subscription satellite tracker that texts you if your bike is moved.

‘Having had one stollen I do what I can. I use an AirTag with a copy one that doesn’t tell the thief and the satellite tracker and a rotor lock with motion sensitivity, lock the ignition and use the steering lock.

‘’Figure if a thief finds the AirTag he’ll assume he got any tracker I have and stop looking further. I gutted a aftermarket turn signal equalizer and put the satellite tracker inside it with dummy wires coming from it. I put the none air tag one hidden deep. I also pretty much park them where I can see them.

You can only do so much. Never had a bike stolen but still lock it and keep a cover over it at night when I go away and it doesn’t say Harley Davidson on the cover along keeping it next to the room if possible and we’ll lite area

Alarms typically dissuade armature thieves....but not the "pros". IF they want it bad enough, it's gone. And, do you really want to "confront" a thief? It's a crazy world out there! IMHO

I used a cell cam for hunting to watch my deer stand area and took it with me when traveling on the bike. Just find a spot where you can put it to keep an put on the bike.
Deer are smarter then most thieves.

I have one I originally had on my 2014 Street Glide and have transferred it to two other bikes. It works great but it is different then the current model. It is rechargeable and smaller then the current one. I really only use it when staying at a hotel .
