Talking Riders backrest

Just had my rider's backrest fitted on my 2020 FLHTK - it is a gamechanger - comfort and reduced back strain has greatly improved.
Now to save up $2740 AUD for my bars...

$2470 for the bars? I presume that's the dealer charge for the change out. My dealer quoted me $1500 U.S. to change mine on my Ultra Classic saying that it was a 7-8 hour task. No way in hell I was paying that. Between the service manual, Youtube and a modest set of tools I changed the bars in 4 hours. I did reroute the clutch cable instead of installing a longer cable. In the end my cost was the bars only at $140.00. Give it a shot.

The $2740 quote was in AUD. I don't have a garage - I park in a shared basement apartment complex so I can't do the job myself. I am going to get the dealer to do it.

I think the Harley adjustable backrest is the best one on the market. I had it on my 2010 Ultra Classic and moved it to my 23 Ultra Limited. The only reason I took it off was I went with a Saddlemen Extended reach seat for more legroom. The Saddlemen backrest isn't nearly as good as the Harley one, but I understand it is farther back so it can't use an adjusteble mount bolted to the fender like the OEM one did.

I agree - the quality of the Harley backrest is awesome. I can't compare it to the saddlemen version, but I like it all the same.

100 bucks for a quality, easy to install (and remove) product. No springs or release mechanisms. Ill never ride without one. There are two things I require on a bike now....a windshield and a backrest. Non negotiable.

Thanks for the link! Very happy with my purchase. Quality without breaking the bank.

For years I used a Rush Racing gel seat with the Harley backrest. It was a great combination. If I hadn't needed the legroom so bad I'd probably still be running that combo.

that was my problem too. The factory seat had me on the tank.
