Default lifting my bike

tried out my new jack today-first time ive raised a bike-rated for 1500 lbs-nice jack. prob is its hard finding the "center" point where both wheels will come off the ground and bike seems to rock a little-stopped where im at since i dont have tie downs. is it normal for the rocking when both wheels off the ground???kinda paranoid. you think the jiffy stand makes your butt pucker lift one of these big bastards by yourself for the first time.

ha ha ha - yep, they wiggle a bit but don't worry. Do a search for Yellow Jack and there's a video clip of one of the guys here jacking his up and then dragging it around his garage... pretty cool

Default lifting bike

I always use tie-downs. I also always let the bike down after use so the jack does not leak down when you are not there. Just a suggestion.

You can get the red jack from Sears for less than a $100 bucks. That what I have and it works fine.

$75 from Harbor Frt. - not the smoothest on the letdown - but workable and efficient.

Got mine from Checker Auto a few years ago for the Sportster for around $ 50. It's rated at 1500 and works fine on my 06 Ultra Classic. The Sporty was easy to find the center of balance and easy to use. The Ultra needs some work to find the center of balance and I always use a tie down strap to stabilize it.

See my signature picture. The one from Lowe's have a lifetime waranty. They take it back, no questions asked.
