I haven't taken delivery of my Street Glide yet but I would like to get some input from Military or DOD riders on wherethey place their DOD base/post vehicle registration decal?
There are plates that you can get that will bolt on just about anywhere, I have mine hanging on one of my front brake caliper bolts. Guards can see it when I pull up. Nice to be able to take it off if you want.

i use a clear plastic shampoo bottle wrapped around my left crash guard. held in place with 3 zip ties. i stick the sticker to the clear plastic, then i can take it off if i want/need and can put it back on with 3 new zip ties.
Here on Kirtland AFB, they are no longer required so Casique is correct - the AF and soon all the other branches of the military will not require DOD stickers - however, they might still require you to 'register' your bike on base/post/etc. Reasoning behind this is that having a DOD sticker on your bike, car, truck, whatever makes you a more easily accessible and identifiable target when travelling off-base, where all the baddies are. Check with your Pass/I.D. office and ask about it.
