Default Adjusting Handle bars 2007 RG

Wanted to adjust my handle bars. Looked in my maintenance manual and I guess you have to take the fairing off to make the adjustment. Shouldn't there be an easier way?

Thanks

Nope. On my 07 RG I just removed the speedo and tac screws, one on each side, poped it off and loosened the two top allen bolts on the handle bars , moved them into position , reversed procedure, all done

What Steve said....

You can get to the bottom two bolts with a ball head allen wrench, but just to move them you can probably get by w/just the top two.

zackly, no need in taking the fairing off. Just the two screws that hold the speedo/tach cover on and that'll expose the handle bar clamp.

Once you take off the speedo/tach take a dremel and notch out where the rear riser bolts are on the plastic..easy fix...I completely swapped out the bars on my '07 that way. When you replace the speedo/tach you cant even tell(dont remove too much).

Default 2007 adjust handle bar

I've removed the fairing, now I've got to remove the radio to get to the handle bar adjustment screws on my 07 ultra glide. two on each side of radio, correct?
Is there anything else I need to do?

I adjusted mine buy taking the ignition switch out, loosen the plastic cover for the light switches and had enough room to get a wrench in there. I found moving bars up about an 1" felt good for about one day of rding..went back in and put them at the "factory" position....
Bottom line..it wasn't worth it
