Have any of you guys tried this stuff with steel wool? I think I read somwhere you could use #0000 steel wool on chrome with no scratches, wondering if that is fact or fiction.
0000 steel wool WILL scratch if yourub too hard. I have a brand new scratched up Pro Pipe heat shield to prove it. Dropped a microfiber towel on it when it was hot and nothing would take that black mess off. The steel wool did, but there are fine scratches throughout now.

My pipes have some color character peeking out from behind the shields or reflecting off covers. My mufflers are still shiny and "chromy" throughout.

Which is it this thread was started about?
