Default Finding Neutral Gear

2007 RG 1500 miles. Was out riding the other morning and got stuck in heavy traffic - 30 minutes stop/go. Started having trouble finding neutral - never experineced this before. At 1000 mile service had royal purple oil put in and belray trans fluid (70/140)

Is this "normal"?

Thanks

I get that sometimes. Were you shifting down from 2nd or up from 1st? Sometimes it helps me to downshift from 2nd rather than try and find it from 1st. I don't know if this helps at all... probably not

Neutral is easier to find (at least for me) if I'm still rolling slowly rather than stopped.

Not sure if that is normal or not, but neutral has always been a little hard for me. I position my foot on the rear shift lever and the front one at the same time so a rocking motion makes it easier for me.

They loosen up with miles and clutch adjustment as well as the proper level of primary oil will change things too.
There was also a replacement (improved)for the 07 neutral light switches that leaked water and installing one of those will made finding neutral a bit easier also.A goodgear oil will make more of a difference than the formula + too.

In the shop manual.
TOO much oil in primmary, clutch will drag. Calls for 34 oz. Have my bike at 32oz.
Has the clutch been adjusted?
