I've been reading these threads about the EFI hot idle issues (actual stalling, not just entering heat management mode) with 06 models, which I thankfully haven't seen with my 06 RKC that I just purchased in October. Of course, it probably hasn't been hot enough here yet, and I haven't been in any traffic jams either.
Anyway, I just wondered if maybe there's a common factor with folks that have seen the hot idle stalling issue. In particular, I'm wondering about the following 5 variables at the time the problem first occurred:
1. Stock or modified (the engine that is, including the exhaust, air filter, and EFI map)
2. Mileage
3. Oil (original, dino, or synthetic) and weight
4. Fuel octane
5. Elevation
Assuming stock EFI engines are all the same (which they're not, I know), or at least tuned to the same parameters, these are the unknown variables that it seems to me could possibly affect engine heat or air/fuel ratio. Maybe I've left something out, or maybe one of the things I've listed doesn't really matter at all - just tell us why. The bottom line is that it sure would be interesting if we could find some correlation between something - anything and this problem.
Interesting to me, anyway. Maybe if this gets some interest, we can do some sort of poll.
