My Service Guy says if you didn't buy it from them its no good on the elbow grease.. So the mail order is on your own.. BTW he also toldme they are probably returns...
the price on-line is below cost so Kudos to Zanottis for doing the right thing
Nidan, Thanks for the picture! I can't friggin believe they want $300.00 for that.
Thier F*#k up. Our problem. Has anybody tried to get this done under the warranty?

If the ones from Zanottis are returns then they are damn clean returns. I've put three of them on, one for me and for a couple of friends. They all came fromZanottiand other than the package with the sprocket, everything was factory sealed. The only reason the sprocket box had been opened was to press in the bearing. There was no evidence that anything had been opened, installed or that it was a return. There was also a post around here somewhere with the dealer cost. If I remember right, Zanottis was still making some money, even at they price they are sell them online. Maybe your service and parts guys don't order enough stuff to get a volume discount. Or maybe they are just full of shnit.
IDS installed. Had it done along with starter problems I had been having. Starter was replaced 2 weeks ago. Still had problems. Sounded like it was going to strand me some place everytime I went out to start it. Dealer replaced Battery, automatic compression release, and acr selenoid. Now, it starts like it is suposed too. First push of the starter, and doesn't make me embarrased in the mean time.
IDS...wow...what a difference a rubber makes?????Never thought I would say that......quiet, no clanging, no rocks in the transmission, bike does not shake as much at idle, 5th gear no noise, 6th gear 55 miles an hour no horrible clanging or choking...the list goes on. Great upgrade.
Dealer original charge was as follows: $305.00 for 1 KIT-SPROCKET, COMPNSTD, TOURING, labor 1.5 hrs @$124.50. Total $429.50. Less the $100.00 from MOCO, $329.50.
So, don't know if it's a bargain price wise, but sure was a bargain riding wise..
just found out, my dealer will not honor the elbow grease deal on my Zanottis IDS . He also stated that they are selling returns foe that price. He beleives they are seconds or damaged returns... LOL but "recomends i buy one at full price from him and pay the difference on the Elbow Grease.... I'm still laughing
Wonder where they are getting that many returns on a part that was just introduced with the 08 model? Does HD all dealers sell seconds as new? Maybe Zanotti is taking them off the 08 bikes and selling them to the 07 guys.
