I am with others that exhaust is all about personal preference. I agree that a local bike night would be a good place to meet others and hear their pipes. You may also try a busy Saturday afternoon at your local dealer. I chose mine by listening to three different set-ups at a dealership and chose Rush with 2.0 baffles. I am happy, but you may not be. I know that I would be pissed if I dropped $400 or more for a set up that I didn't like.

Definitely listen to what everyone is saying. You gotta hear em yourself. As far as not setting off car alarms my buddie has ovals, I have Wild Pigs and we set off alarms all the time. I think the Pigs might be slightly louder but not much. You gotta go and listen for yourself.
