What are some good after market exhaust pipes? I want something that won't drown out the Harley tone just enhance the tone of over my stock pipes. I'd lov e the SE but can't get them.
This is probably the most discussed issue on this board...do a little browsing and you will get about 1000 different opinions. Basicallly comes down to your likes (sound, performance, look, etc.).
You will find alot of people that recommend Vance & Hines, Reinhardt, Wild Pigs, Hard Krome (this one for Bountyhunter!), Screamin Eagle, etc.
I personally am very happy with and would not stray from V&H. I have the V&H slash cuts with V&H true duals.
When you find a bike that sounds good to you, ask the owner what he/she has and buy it/them. Thank God we have such a big selection from which to choose............someday we may not.

I'd lov e the SE but can't get them.
You can get any mufflers you would ever want on Ebay..........there are a ton of S/E stuff on there.
Hang out at a dealership on the weekend, or check out the local bike-night. Find one that you like the sound of, and ask what it is. That is the best way to buy exhaust.
If you want to save some money and have good performance also try Fullsac Performance recored stock slip ons....I got a set for a "good" Harley sound and am very happy....Plus it didn't cost me a arm and a leg..... Performance was not lost either!!!
Worth looking into....But everyone has their own opinion for a "TRUE" harley sound....Go to a dealership and talk to people who have an exhaust sound you like it's the only way!!!
I have a set of the "Re-Cored" Pipes from Smooth Bore that were on my Ultra, I loved them but the wife did not.
Very Deep tone, really brings out the Harley in the bike, not too loud, but has a great bark when you get on it.
I am going to sell them on Ebay this week as we ended up going with Supertrapp SE.
Hey man if you want screaming eagle pipes, I have a brand new set of screaming eagle catalyst mufflers that I got with my 95 inch kit. They have never been installed, are still in box. They are 429.00 from harley. I will sell them for 300.00 with free shipping if you are interested. they are for 06 touring models.
Rick, I would probably do what maineultraclassic says and hang out at the dealership and check out the sounds and looks of everyones pipes. When you find what you like...get on the internet and find the cheapest price you can find...then call denniskirk.com and they will beat it by a buck and ship it out that day(over $100 free shipping). Their return policy is the greatest I've found.
