Will the fork mounted crome air deflectors ( HD # 58121-85B) work on a 04 UC that has lowers?
I've seen a couple of pics of bikes that have them on with lowers but the catalog says the are for bikes without lowers. Can they be modified to fit without hitting the lowers?
Thanks for the input.
Here's the links for the discussion we just had. There are pictures in them. They work fine if you follow the directions, put them on the correct way, and adjust them properly.
Looks like with those and lowers your blocking/deflecting a bunch of air needed to help cool the motor, not a good thing on already hot running newer 96's. IMO
Yeah, you don't want to run both in the summer! My signature picture was taken in April last spring. Some of those MN PGRiders left home that day in low 30 degree temps.
The day after I reinstalled them this fall, the temps got to 85, and on a hundred mile ride my oil temps got up to about 250 I'm normally running about 220, based on a dipstick guage.
Well,,, I got them and put them on. I dont quite have the clearance for a fork lock but I havent messed around with the spot/signal bar fully yet. They really do direct the air around the rider. I'm going to tackle the spot assembly now and try to get a little more room. I did attach a small plastic strip to the edge of the deflector in case it does come in contact with the lower.
I have the Chrome lowers on with my lowers on my 2007 Ultra Classic and they help in cold weather, a good idea is to get you some chrome door moulding that covers the edge will help
keep lowers from getting messed up.
