Good to hear Ben![sm=smiley20.gif] I hope you get plenty miles out of those tires as well. Report back if you do ride in the rain. It is inevitable as mine got christened in the rain on my Route 66 trip in New Mexico one evening. TORRENTIAL rains and the Metz's handled like a dream at 80 mph on the highway. No rainsuit will make you ride like a tard.

Thanks for the post I have been looking for info on the commanders. Aim debating between them and 880 metzeler.
Yep, me too. Have been planning to get 880's, but maybe Michelins are a good option. Really looking forward to seeing how this new tire works out. Still need WVRD to ride like the wind and wear these tires out as fast as he can (sort of counterproductive for you, right WVRD?). We may all have to kick in and by him some new tires when he's done!

Darren:

I've already got the rain suit ready to put on this weekend if the forcast holds true. Heading to the Smoky Mountains Friday am, and they're forecasting some rain that day. I'll be sure and report back if things get wet!

I also hope to get plenty of miles! If these Michelins even come close to what I was getting out of the Dunlops, I'll stay with them. Time will tell.

Hope your Route 66 trip was a great one! I sure would like to ride that part of the country one day!

Ride Safe!

I installed a set of Dunlop E3's before a trip to the Badlands/Black Hills in August and have 8K on the now and the wear is good if not great but the ride is terrible. Much rougher riding than the stockers. I will not use them again even if I get 15K on the rear. How do the Comanders's ride? I was considering Avons next or the Michelin's if they ride well.

waltr, any thoughts why the Elite 3 were rougher? What air pressure was you running? Just ordered an Elite 3 for my rear, hope I didn't just screw up!!!

They have a higher load capacity, wonder if sidewall is stiffer?
