FLHTCU Oil Change

FLHTCU Oil Change
Big question:
I just did my first 500 mile oil change on my Ultra classic.... (boy I was glad to remove them metal shavings from the magnetic plug!)
Now- on putting my new oil in.... I was able to only put in 3 1/2 quarts before it was full--- (that was after putting in 3 quarts... starting it and idle for a few seconds.... put in another 1/4 quart.... rode it around the neighborhood.... and put in another 1/4 quart and went on a 5 mile ride..... dip stick reading full....)
I did oil and filter change.... let the bike sit and drip for about 2 hours b4 putting plug back in and new filter on.... .Does 3 1/2 quarts sound right to anyone else doing their changes?
Thanks

RE: FLHTCU Oil Change
I just did by 5,000 mile service. Although I noticed quite a bit of metal on the magnetic drain plug at the 800 mile mark, when I went to Syn3, and again at the 1,600 mile mark when I swapped it out for Mobil 1, there were no metal filings at 5,500 miles whatsoever. Interesting, wonder if it was a break in thing, junk from the initial build, or if Mobil 1 is making the difference. Anyone else notice something like this?
