Call Jamie at Fuelmoto and get everything you need for 750 bucks. Sounds good and runs great.

I hear FuelMoto is great. I bought Rush 2.25" slip ons, online for $336, V&H FuelPak for $210 online and got my Ness Big Sucker on E-Bay for $104. $650 total and about 2 hours last night to put it on. What a difference! Worthr every penny! I haven't used FuelMoto, but would go that route next time because the PCIII opens the doors to a lot of possibilites.

Ditto Norcalrider. As long as you are not worried about warrantygo for what you can afford, but do pipes, cams then heads and of course you'll need a tuner. AND, this is where you will likely toast your warranty. Our Bay Area Dealers will not honour warranty where a tuner has been scripted. So check wkth your dealer if this concerns you, or if you are like me, and can work on the bike yourself then do the above. Budget? Screw it, you'll eventually do all of the above mods and more anyway. Rubber side down dude.

Chornbe --- Bikenuts nailed it --- his Road King could probably use a little more acceleration at the higher speeds. I have 30,000 miles on my 2005 Road King (FLHR) with stock equipment, and the only area where I consider its performance to be mildly weak is when you need to jump it from 70mph to 80mph on the interstate to pass (and, yes, I am doing greater than 2500 rpm).

I am considering a stage 1 upgrade on the bike next winter to try to find that extra punch. My only hesitation about doing it is that I get mixed reviews on the impact on gas mileage. To some degree, it would seem logical that getting the bike to breathe easier through the cleaner and exhausts could produce a little more power without a significant loss of fuel economy. However, as I read through the countless posts regarding exhausts and air cleaners, there are times that it appears that motorcycle engineering defies the laws of physics.

Let me be more clear. What I am looking for is NOT more high end speed to go fast. The Ultra will go as "fast" as I ever want to ride. What I DO want is some more "grunt" or "torque" when I'm passing a truck on a 2 lane road and a short window of opportunity to do it. I want to fell confident when I commit to make the pass. I'm sure you all have been there. You patiently wait for the chance, and it finally comes up a grade, and you need to "punch and go". That's what I'm looking for, not 125mph on the flats.
Have you actually ridden the bike? If you actually let the thing rev above 2500RPM it'll go just fine.

I think I should open a "how to really ride a Harley" clinic.

Honestly.
