07 flhx, se stage 1 a/c, duals, everything else stock.
at decel, it 'hangs' for a moment around 2000 rpm (maybe a second or two), then continues decel. after that hang period, i'm getting backfire, both cylinders. i've tried the v&h fuelpak, but was no help.
it did the hanging thing prior to the pipes and intake, but did not pop - i'm guessing due to the restricted stock mufflers.
sowhat might cause that kind of hang? the dealer said everything was operating normally, of course.
I went through with something like that for a loooooooong while with my 06 ultra. It still does it on rare ocassions, a little bit. What the dealer found was the Idle air speed motor was hanging in the bore. They tried cleaning it many times and it would work for a while, they eventually replaced it. Take your air filter off and look into the hole at the butterfly in the induction manifold. At the 12 o` clock position is the idle port. A mechanic told me to spray a cleaner in mine with the bike off and cycle the switch on and off slowly to give the plunger time to cycle in the bore, to see if it is hanging up. Worth a try !!! Dan
If you are using the V&H Fuelpack, call teck line and they may help with some fine tuning, but if you had this even when bone stock, dgriffith had some good input. Have an 07 RK, and rpms would drop to the basement on decel, before and after stage 1 upgrade.

i spole with v&htech folks several times. in fact i live nearby and even had them take a listen. they had me change a few mode values - which didn't help -and then said "you should make sure you roll off the throttle when you down shift". ummm, duh. gonna try griffith's suggestion though.
