Wow - some of you guys spin the motor a lot. I ride everyday on the fwy and will let 6th chug down to 50 mph if I'm too lazy to shift. Normally, I'll shift into 6th at about 65 or so, but I'm not afraid to let it chug a little. Pulls fine, doesn't ping.... Now, if I need to pass somebody in a hurry, a couple taps on the shifter gets it done good.
drop it in to 6th above 70+ and don't switch down to 5th unless below 65. I still don't like to run the rpms below 2200 or so in 6th even after IDS, even if i can.
having said that, i do spend quite abit of time in 6th, here in So Cal (hey Pappy!!!), you are almost almost running above 75 minimum or doing 10 miles per hour in traffic. Such is life...
