IDS install
Somewhere on an IDS thread sometime back I posted a list of procedures for removing the rear wheel, and I'll go find that and add a comment about this. Thanks for your heads up. Redhill, you might edit your subject to something like "IDS install warning" so more people see it.
Acedantinne, I just read your earlier note but missed it last week when you wrote it. It seems this may be a common problem and it's obvious that everyone who's done an IDS install, or removed the wheel for any reason, needs to check it. Get a flashlight and look under the bike where the caliper housing fits under the "weldment anchor" on the swingarm. On the inside of the caliper housing pointing toward the wheel you'll see a thin rubber strand maybe 3/4" long. Look toward the outside of the bike along the axis of this strand and you'll see an indentation in the caliper housing, and this bumper should be visible between the caliper and weldment anchor. If not, look above the swingarm and see if you see it protruding in that location. If it is not in its groove below the swingarm anchor it is not positioned right.

Redhill, I wanted to get back sooner on your problem. Sorry I was sick. Lymes, Tick bite.
Anyhow, Person from this site took me up and borrow my tools installed his own and friends IDS. His bike had a slight noise and a vibration when riding. What We found after looking bike over was a very simple BUT important part had moved out of place. There is a rubber damper on the rear brake caliper. It slides on the rear swing arm weld aligment.Putting the caliperback on it got missed aligned. More like pushed out of way. Replaced with new. Applied a slight amount of Sil-Glyde. Makes easy too install.
His problem fixed.
Hope this helps.

Anybody have a picture? If I print this out and go look at the bike should I be able to figure out what is wrong or right?
