Fuse Bl
I've had three 20 amp fuses blow in a little over a year on an 06 RG. Third one was today. They were all the same accessory fuse that operates the speedo, tach, cruise, and turn signals. I'm tempted to leave it alone next time if it wasn't for the turn signal. Think of the milage I'd save.Anyone out there had a similar experience? If so where should I look?
I would start with the rear wheel harness.
could be a short or could be a corroded connector causing a bad connection.
Also I would look closely at the rear tail light / brake light assembly.
some have been know to retain water causing a short.
First time it happened was just after bike was started, while still parked. Took it to the dealer and they replaced not only the fuse but had to replace the speedometer as well. Second time was this October while in cruise with the radio on doing about 70 mph. I assumed it was another speedo malfunction and took it again to the dealer. They only had to replace fuse that time. Today when it blew, I only had the radio on and doing about 50 mph. I replaced the fuse and speedo works.
