just got a barely used set of screaming eagle touring pipes ,wanted a little more sound for my 05 classic.can i just bolt these up or do i also need some sort of computer upgrade as well?
On my 03 Classic, I had the stealer put the Screamin Eagle mufflers on before I took delivery of the bike. The stealer recommended the Stage 1 kit. He said it would run a little lean without it, so I had them do it. This was before I knew anything about PCIII's and such. My SE mufflers were the old style that still had some sound.
BTW, my bike runs perfect, so they must have given me good advice.
Many stealers will tell you you have to do the stage 1, but it's not true. I have the SE pipes--old style--great sound--no stage 1 or anything else. Bike sounds terrific and runs perfectly--08 Ultra.
