Just received my J&S jack. It looks and works great.A couple of observations, although the lift is simple to assemble and use, a couple of easy additions can make it even better.
The assembly instructions would be awesome with simple pictures. A simple drawing of the lift’s main moving parts, such as the locking mechanism, would help a lot. The lift can benefit from two locking casters.[/ol] Other than theseminiscule issues, it is a great lift.
Oh c'mon, nothing ventured, nothing gained.[sm=confused06.gif] No guts, no glory.[sm=americanasmiley.gif] Only the good die young. [sm=grinangel.gif] When in doubt, do it. [sm=yeahsmile.gif] It's not the fall that kills ya, it's the sudden stop.[sm=outcold.gif]
I am [sm=joke.gif] of course, but seriously I am very curious if the jack lives up to the hype. Inquiring minds would like to know.[sm=smiley23.gif]
Got mine last wensday, I couldn't resist and tried it very carefully to start with but at full extention I was able to climb on move to the rear seat dangle my legs lean over the front forks ( not as far as him, but I do top 250 lb's ) flipped my buddy out It is super stable and lifts the bike amazing high! Pricey but in this case worth it I'd say!

I have been using the Sears Red Jack for a few years. I have been Jonesing the J&S for about year. There is a bike show here in March they will be at and I think I will buy one then which will save the freight.
What I do not like about the Sears lift is the very difficult perhaps impossible way it is to move with the bike on it.
So, does the J&S have four independently rotating (360 degrees) casters?
Does it roll around on a reasonably clean garage floor easily?

No, it only has two rotating casters, one of my few complaints. I also wish it had some kind of handle to move it with.
