Exactly what I did with mine.....no noticeable difference in reception.

I relocated it running along the frame and on the shifter side of the bike. Its hidden but still works perfect. Just remove the bracket from the attachment and cut the zip ties. this allows you to move it under the seat and to attach it to the top frame rail and out of sight.

I cut my windshield down on my RK for stock seat height but when I got a low seat it was too high again so I cut it more, went back to stock and the windshield was too low then, bought a replacement that was too high so I cut it down but then got a new higher seat and it was too low again and buffeted pretty bad. Not wanting to buy another a new one for my ride I was going on last weekend I cut the top off my first one even with top of the cross bar but higher than the new one, drilled a couple holes and used rubber washers and nylon bolts with wing nuts. Now I have to cut the newer one to the same height as the other so it's not noticeable in the low position, drill two more holes and I can raise or lower it two inches depending on seat height or freeway riding which makes a huge difference with the wind. It is right at nose level now so I don't even notice the split between the two. Around town I can drop it back down to the low position or just remove it and put it on for longer trips. That was confusing. Don't know if I'd call it a mod or a f up.

So I finished cutting it down today, I can raise it 2 1/4" and when it's in the down position you can't really tell except for the old mounting holes and nylon bolts. You could sandwich a map in there if you don't like using a GPS or a picture your wife, you could even put a picture of someone elses wife in there. Just have to grind a bit off so it sits flush on top of the right side mounting bracket. Double protection from flying bullets too.

My left side heated grip on my 2020 rotated back and forth about a 1/8 of an inch due to less than perfect fit from the lobes on the grip in the housing and minimal clamping pressure from the two housing tabs. Withing spec but very annoying. Today I wrapped a zip tie around the portion where the tabs apply pressure and cut off the excess and the locking block (so it would fit the housing edge) with the open end down. Tightened up and now it is perfect and going nowhere. If you look closely at the right side you can see the tab, there is also one on the opposite side and it looks factory.

Not sure if anyone has made their own "fangs" but here is my take, just some aluminium L channel with my artsy version of a wing, the bottom of the L channel looks like it is straight but it has about a 30 degree angle cut, just the angle of the pic.

Default 2014 Street Glide DIY 2 x 1

2014 Street Glide
trying to do DIY 2 into 1 exhaust with my Vance and Hines pipes. Took off the clutch side pipe and plugged the crossover pipe. Started the bike, it loped kinda funny like I thought I would. Turned it off. Tried to start twice more. Wouldn’t start. Sounded and smelled like it was flooded. I’ve read of others making this modification themselves no problem. What am I doing wrong?
thanks

So I got bored today and started thinking. I cut grooves in the extra windshield piece and made it able to adjust while riding, I can put it up or down by loosening the wingnuts 2 1/2" either way. Nice on the freeway and lower it around town.
