There are 14,000 garage door opener hacks. Which one are you referring to? Use the "Quote " button on the bottom right of the post you're talking about, and maybe someone will be able to help you.

Default Antenna Cut down?
Anyone have good results with removing 12-16" of antenna by just cutting the tip off? Would it substantially affect the reception?

Did that on a pickup. Didn't affect radio reception.
