Default Added IDS to my 07 EG

Recently there were several posts concerning adding IDS to 07touring bikes& takingadvantage of the MOCO's $100 elbow grease program. One of our local dealers had a 20% discount Thanksgiving sale. So,because of the $ savings, and positive posts from several members, I went for it. The total costended up being$275, including 9-3/4% Tenn. sales tax. The dealer figured one & half hours to install the unit, so @ $70 per hour he called it even. Who knows how long it actually took?

After the installation I didn't get to ride for more than 30 minutes, but I'm pretty statisfied with the results so far. It did make the bike a little smoother during acceleration, & it made 5th gear a little quiter.5th gear at any speedwas pretty noisey before adding the IDS, so anything would be an improvement.I didn't get to ride long enough to notice how the bike felt @ low RPMs in a gear that might be a little high for the situation. Hopefully the weather will be nice next weekend & I'llget to take an extendedride.

It won't bring world peace or let you relive your teenage years but it will make a significant improvement to an already great motorcycle.

Right you are peddler. I'm 60 years old, and in my teens I rode a Triumph Cub.My EG is a great machine, and it makes me & my wife very happy.

IDS has been around a long time. Rice burners have had them for years. Just new to Harleys.

1. Not new-Technology is as much as 50 years old. Metric bikes have had this featue for as many as 40 years.
2. Not new to Harleys-The Vrod has had this feature for as many as 8 years.

Revolutionary???It probably was in it's day(50's). I just like it because it works.

Well said.

Agree that it is not new technology as my 1979 Yamahahas it. I don't recall anyone saying it is. New to HD touring bikes? Fairly. I don't care it makes my bike feel great and totally worth doing imo.

I think what is revolutionary about the IDS is that it wasn't included on the 07's. It's hard to believe the MOCO let $20k bikes go out the door letting them make all that rattletrap noise.
