Default Another SERT vs PCIII question

If I were to exchange my PCIII for a SERT, should I expect my HD dealer have the ability to properly tune the bike with the SERT?

I ask this because I don't have a Dynon center anywhere near me, and I had concerns about using the dyno (and causing engine damage) without being properly tuned.

Do ALL HD dealers that sell SE have SERT experience?

Anthony,

I like the SERT better than the PCIII because you have more tuning abilities. A good dealer should be able to set you up. Don't worry about having it dyno'd. Take it to a qualified dyno tech. They do a preliminary run to see where you are then make adjustments. Running it on a dyno for a few runs is no worse than kicking it in the *** a few times on the interstate. A good dyno tech can tune your bike with either the PCIII or SERT.

I had the dealer adjust my bike when they added the SE intake/mufflers etc, they installed a SERT and programmed it up to match, i think its a pretty common thing for them to do.

No, not all dealers have a dyno as you found out or have a tech that knows the SERT

There is nothing to worry about by having a bike dynoed, just make sure the oil isn't low.

No as stated above.

Realisticly you can install the SERT and generic map yourself, BUT to get the most performance you will need to have the bike dyno tuned.
