My 08 s/e air cleaner arrived today. Part number is 29515-08.I was in the process of install and noticed that the contoured surface of the backing plate does not meet with the opening of the carb. I looked at box and said it was for a 58mm throttle body. Is there another kit that fits the stock opening of a Ultra? Is this how its supposed to be or is this the kit that they use. If someone has something please advise. This is the second kit that the dealer has ordered. The first one was for a 07 model. Thank You
this is the one I got. heres the part number of the kit I got 29260-08 kit SE stage 1 a/c 50mm also states that its for 2008+ later touring models. also make sure you take the black metal bracket off on the throttle body housing other with the backing plate will not seal correctly.
Looks like I did not. Can you believe this is the second time I will be taking this thing back. When it rain its poars.

As dt20 said, if you don't remove the bracket it won't fit. It doesn't tell you that in the instructions for some reason. I guess you could double up on the gaskets if you don't want to remove the bracket.
50thstatecycle,
just want to make sure we are talking about the same AC the one that you reuse your AC cover correct not the L shaped cleaner? the part number I gave you was for the one that you would reuse your cover not the heavy breather that apparantly is L in shape and the filter is exposed.
The dealer had the correct part in stock. The number you gave me is correct. I reused my original air cleaner for the sleeper look. The bracket is attached with two screws on top of the throttle body and too both jugs does get tossed. If you dont toss it there will be a gap the exact thickness of that bracket between the throttle body and the new backing plate. You are also correct it does not state this in the instructions. Also I glued the black rubber strip to the air cleaner so it wont fall off while riding. There is a slight mis alignment between the backing plate and the throttle body. The transistion is not as smooth as I would like it, the only fix would be to port the throttle opening more. Sounds like more mods than I need. Thank You once again and good thing we have this forum.
