I have a GPS built into the car and a TomTom Rider for the bikes. I never leave home without a map!
The great thing is they always know exactly where you are, but it is not always so obvious where you are on the ground!
I have had good experiences and bad. Getting out of a wrong turn in super quick time, down roads that were not obviously even there, but have also got well and truly lost following thesilly thing!
Here in the UK there are regular stories in the papers and on tv about people going down wrong turns, getting stuck in rivers, lorries getting stuck in narrow lanes. You need your wits about you to use one!
All you Zumo users. I don't like the little security screw either, don't like having to have the special screwdriver with me....so here's a link to the Zumo forum and it's the like to the member selling a replacement security screw for the Zumo, makes it a lot easier and can be used with gloves....ordered two for meand it's great....

I was just going to post this. Great product and cheap too. I ordered 2 for $16 shipped and had them in a few days.
I got a Garmin Zumo 550 for my B-Day. Comes with bike and auto mounts. Easy attach to handlebars and pretty easy to tie electric into power inside headlight. Has bluetooth output so you can hear audio directions and play MP3's wirelessly. Bluetooth is only mono though. Connects to bluetooth cell phones and will display who is calling and downloads cell contacts so you can easily call them when you are stopped. Can download POI's and routes from PC easily. Lots of things you can do and it works great on bike and in truck
What he said - I have had mine for 6 months - use it when I travel also.
