Plans are nowhere complete yet.Traveling with 3 other riding buddies. Some still working, some retired. We can never seem to make a timely decision on scehules, etc. Actuallywe are trying not to over plan the trip and keep it flexable. As of now, looks likea mid-to-late May departure. West to Denver, south through the mountains toward Arizona, up left coast, and across the northern states.
Again, with us, something may catch our fancy and we could change plans, routes.
Will let you know as time gets closer.

FLHS......when do you plan on leaving and what is your general route along with time off?? Everything was pretty much covered in the above replies. I 2nd the tip for keeping a Harley Tour book, has all the vitals,phone,address,capabilities......found it to be very handy on my trip earlier this year.

Bob I actually am leaving for the Keys on April 24 but by the time I get back up north to Route 70 to Denver it should be around the 10th of May. Then across to Denver then to the coast up the PCH to Washington Oregon border then across east to Lewiston Idaho then down to Montrose Colorado and then back home to Long Island. If you go to the Grand Canyon make sure that you go to the south rim not the north as it is so much better. There are pros and cons and I have been there by bike and seen both. Arizona is like Hell--to hot. PCH is beautiful and a great ride. Northern states also have a lot for you to see. If you get time contact me and we will talk by phone and maybe I can help you guys out. Remember there are no wrong turns just adventures.

I think I would change out the tires before the trip and not have to worry about that part. You should be able to get 10k out of a set.
agreed. Especially if it is not stop and go traffic.

Be prepared for anything. I went through $800.worth ofrear tires in1 year, one to wear, one to a small nail, & one to a screw. You never know when you'll need a new tire. That got old real quick.
