Default Dresser Duals - Headpipe Blued

I recently installed V&H Dresser Duals on my '01 RKC. I had been running stock headers with V&H Basic slip-ons, a hi-flow AC and a PC III. The install went well, no problems and I loaded a map from Jamie at FuelMoto which was based on my set-up. The bike is running well, mpg is down significantly but that might be just throttle twist related.

My issue is I just noticed when washing it on Saturday that the rear headpipe is significantly blued while the frony looks brand new. Now I have been running the bike with ambient temps in teh 30s and 40s so maybe the front is getting cooled that way. The level of discoloration on the back bothers me though since I have only several hundred miles on it. I'm not experiencing any significant decel popping nor do I see any signs of an exhaust leak. I changed the gaskets out on the install and have made sure the headbolts have not backed off. I will pull the plugs this weekend and see how they look.

Anyone else experience this? Is it normal? If not, any check fors?

I have dresser duals and oval slip-ons on my 07 UC. The rear pipe is more blued than the front. I run a V&H fuelpack instead. From V&H tech group the rear cylinder runs a little hotter and leaner than the front cylinder causing this issue. Even with the proper map program in place. V&H said this is normal on all new 07 models with the O2 sensor equipped engines. Best I can help you with this!

Common. Don't sweat if your plugs read good.

This is exactly the reason that I'll be paying for a dyno tune in the spring. They will tune each cylinder to get the best overall tune for the engine. I am still undecided whether I will keep the PCIII or buy a SERT before the tune. I am leaning toward the SERT.

The rear cylinder always runs a little hotter. Don't worry.

On the new motor I have a little experience tuning the SERT. You can tune it all as mentioned including open and closed loop. The PC eliminates the 02sensors. I've heard that the PCs have a tendency to go belly up after about two years. This is attributed to their exposure being on the bike all the time. BTWBlue Job does a nice "job" of removing the discoloration.

I just checked the plugs and they both look fine. Thanks for the feedback.

WOW,

I just put dresser duals on my 07 Ultra. Been wet outside, and busy at wok, so I haven't even built a fire in her yet.
I hope my wife doesn't see this, onaconna she will kill me.

I hope my pipes and fuel pak work...
