Iam goingto change to a single brake setup on the bike. Looking at the Lyndall 13" rotor and pads with the Hogpro six piston caliper. The question is, is the Hogpro caliper a quality piece compared to the PM, Jaybrake or other namebrand calipers.
greg64, HHI are both Quality Calipers & people. Why loose 1 rotor? The reason for 2 rotors is because of heat dissipation. The misconception of 1-vs 2 rotors/calipers is not initial stopping but the following: There is not much difference in stopping distance in the short run but when longer stops are necessary, your rotor does not have time to cool down and the likelihood of brake failure increases. I am not suggesting you to do anything but understand the truth and ramifications of your actions. If you ride single or unloaded, the likelihood demises with weight reduction. If you pack and /or pull a trailer more research is needed before deciding on what risks are acceptable.

I just ordered today a complete duel disc 4 piston "black anodized " caliper set {2} to replace the crap stock calipers on my '07 FLH Standard. As in the past with my '02 EGlide, I'm also replacing both front calipers with H/D floaters at the same time. Will then do the same to the rear as cash flow permits, LOL . They make a huge improvement in stopping ability, and are top quality parts, people and service !!

Roofuss96 Before you put your hard earned cash down at Harley, first open the box to your new prospective rotor. Try to move it sideways. If it does not move it is a 2 piece rotor. These are models that are riveted together and offer you no advantage. If your rotor does move, friction ring moves on the round spring clips, which is separate from the carrier, than it is a floating rotor. A floating rotor does just that, floats!
This isn't the first time I've used either the Hawg Halter calipers or floating rotors on my bikes, and am aware of the difference in rotors as you described . Got it covered .............
OKso here is what I am going to do. The 13" Lyndall Rotor and pads with the PM six piston caliper. I will have to drill the rotor and mount the sproket for the ABS ( I have the 06 Police bike and will be keeping the ABS) and swap out the master cyclinder for a .5625" dia piston.
