Default RE: GPS Mounting

ORIGINAL: bob_kikkert

The 08 Ultra manual says not to use the cigarette lighter for any accessories.....any comments on that with respect to a GPS?
Probably just Harley's way of protecting themselves. I wired mine to the HDI running/parking light lead on the headlight harness in the fairing. I was back in the fairing yesterday installing an oil temp. gauge & looking to wire my garage door opener to the bike's power. While considering where to pull power for the opener from I looked at the lighter. I was amused to notice when I looked at the wiring diagram that it's the same circuit I was already wired to. I just added the opener to the connectors already in use & closed up the fairing.
