Default Andrews cam outer gear question

I'm currently building my 01 FLHT to 95" with mild head work and a set of TW21's chain type (yeh I know still no gear drive) but I wanted to keep the build cheap for now, Full up 120 later down the road. My question is Andrews claims you have to use their outer gears when installing their chain type cams. Is there a valid reason why you can't use stock harley gears? I happen to have new OEM harley chains and gears and such. Just didn't want the additional expence for nothing. Thanks for any info.

There are no outer gears when using chain drive cams............there are no gears at all when doing a chain drive cam install.

that is only true for 99 models. Your 01 should not need it.

I apologize for using the wrong nomenclature. As pointed out I should have used the term sprockets. Thanks MT, thats the answer I needed.
