I'm currently building my 01 FLHT to 95" with mild head work and a set of TW21's chain type (yeh I know still no gear drive) but I wanted to keep the build cheap for now, Full up 120 later down the road. My question is Andrews claims you have to use their outer gears when installing their chain type cams. Is there a valid reason why you can't use stock harley gears? I happen to have new OEM harley chains and gears and such. Just didn't want the additional expence for nothing. Thanks for any info.

that is only true for 99 models. Your 01 should not need it.
