Tent or Motel

I don't really care - as long as I'm traveling somewhere on my motorcycle, I'm happy. Must admit that these days a hot tub and a real bed at the end of a long day is a becoming a welcome sight though...must be getting old [8D]
Depends on where I am going or at, how long I have to get there and the weather on the road.
Sturgis I did all three.
Tried Buffalo chip, at that time no amenities and way too crowded.
Did a different small family owned camp ground and they bent over backward to accomodate your needs.
For a fast one nighter there or traveling light across country motel / bead breakfast
While just out riding we use a tent in the national forest / parks
Also some rides I have done I would prefer to stay in a tent. The choice of hotels along the way, probably safer outside than in the room.
I love to camp from my bike. I can load 6 days worth of food (not including lunches) and all my gear on my Ultra. I LIVE for the summer trips I take on my bike. I can attest that there are hardly any riders, Harley owners or otherwise, who camp. I ride past motel after motel with bikes in the parking lot. In the camp sites I sit by the fire and drink beer, sometimes make friends with other campers.
