I recently replaced my rear tire from a 140 to a 150 on a 18" wheel. SLammed all the way down with my air ride, my fender touches my tire and cannot move. Today, me and the wife went for a ride and raised her&nbsp\\;up an inch or so, and also was rubbing, so i went&nbsp\\;up a lil higher&nbsp\\;to be on the safe side, though I do not know how high It was, and my air ride shocks go from 9.75"-13.5"&nbsp\\;I am plannin on going with Works 11.5" from the stock SG size 12". Itll help with my vertical syndrome...me being 5' 5". Im switching just in case my compressor ever fails on a long ride from point A to Z.

Go with a air ride system\\;

+1 on th Arnott system. A breeze to install and it works like a charm. With the stock rear tire size it's designed so that it won't rub even if you lose all air pressure. Bonus is when you slam it, it not only looks really sweet but backing into a space (even slightly up hill) is a snap! I had the HD touring front lowering kit installed also.

+2 on the Arnott. I have no rubbing issues when all the way down with a 18" rear wheel and 150/70 metzler tire. Usually the rubbing is on the wiring harness which runs inside the fender. I stacked quarters and dimes and taped the to the tire and checked it that way to see how much clearance. Right now all the way down about 3/8". Not that I would ever ride it that low but looks cool at the parking lot and in a jam I could make my way to a gas station for a fix. I'd also reccomend getting the gauge that mounts under the frame so you can set the pressure for different riding conditions if you change the hieght often

i have a 2007 street glide that i lowered 2 in. at first an it rubbed through the rear wiring harness. fixed that and raised it back up to 1'' lower than stock an still rubbed through the harness. so finally took the rear lowering kit off.
