I bought a clearance HD leather jacket and got it home and found out the stitching holding the zipper was coming undone. I took it to a local alteration shop and $16 later I was good to go. I would call around like I did and find a place that can handle thick leather.

well a leather jacket I bought in 02 or 03..???
the shoulders and top of arms are faded almost white/grey
wife dont like it,, I like the warn out look,
anyways, she bitched,, dealer send pick a new one off the rack,, he'll send the other one in!
that easy,
But,, I couldnt give part of me away ,,, so I just bought a new one!

My FXRG came with a 5 year warranty. After 1 year the main zipper broke, took it back to the dealer who sent it to Harley. I guess HD decided it was not worth it to fix the jacket so I got a brand new one off the rack...
