Got a set of the chrome switches and new grips for Christmas. Still sitting in the garage.. Yeah Yeah I know, just too busy riding.
Anyway, I stopped by my dealer to inquire about labor for the job and was quoted 2 hours for the switches and 1/2 hour for the grips. At 75$ an hour, i think I'll try it myself.

My buddy added the chrome switches, about three months later, the starter
stuck on while riding on I90 out at Sturgis. We pulled off the exit and into the gas station.
The bike had that electrical smell and he turned off the ignition switch, not the kill switch.
We looked over the bike, not knowing the problem YET. With the bike on the kick stand
he turned the ignition switch back on and off the bike went across the parking lot
with him running beside it. He did get the switch turned off before it hit anything,
but what a crazy thing. This was caused by the starter button wire grounding out,
keeping the starter running. We pulled off the wire on the starter and caught the bike in gear.
Fixed the bike later that night at the house. The starter over heated a needed replaced also.
Chrome doesn't get you home.
I installed two sets on baggers, no problems.
Pay attention to the details.
rambo11, $75 is a $75 but I can almost guarantee you that you will wish you would have spent the money to have the dealer install them. They seem to be simple but beleive me, the 2 hrs it will take you would be alot more enjoyable on the road. Just my .02
