What about over your boots? I have leather boots that I've dressed with boot oil twice a year for over ten years...they still don't last 2 minutes in rain. I use a 2 piece HD rain suit large enough to fit over my leather, where I ride staying warm is almost as important as staying dry. I have used totes rubber boots to go over my riding boots, but I recently had my boots re-soled and the totes no long fit (had a more agressive hiking boot type sole put on). I don't end up in rain all that often, but don't like wearing heavier/hotter gear all the time "just in case". Don't really like what I have, but haven't found anything better.

Their made by Tour master and $18 and you can throw em on in a minute.

Aerostich Dariens are great. They just don't fit into the Harley standard, more commonly found with BMW or IronButt riders. I've worn them for many years and I can't see how leathers would be better for touring. I had an accident at about 50 MPH in 2001 while wearing my Dariens; no road rash or other abrasions but eight broken bones and a severely damaged helmet. Unfortunately in the ER they cut the pants off me instead of using the full length zippers. For touring they are great; but, I also like leather jackets, have several, and will be ordering a Langitz as soon as I loose some weight.

I have the 2 piece Harley set, got suckered in because of the stupid pouch thing & the gift card I had. Wore them once, and it keeps you dry, and the pants aren't so bad length-wise (I'm 5'10"), but the thing is HOT, they do not breathe at all. Definitely try to find something that allows a little air flow, and something that is full-face-helmet friendly.

I like the Harley boot covers. Their easy to put on, keep your feet dryand don't cover your boot heel. When you stop. your boot heel is on the ground, nothing in between to slip.

Be carefull of the Frogg Toggs. I tried a pair. Ripped the crotch out the first time I threw my leg over the bike.

I use the Tour Master jacket and pants, they work ok...

I either wear my leathers that I soak with mink oil/pure neats foot oil made for saddles or my first gear pants and frog togg top. I do a lot of IBA rides and long distance riding. My first gear is the ones I prefer. They ahve the zip out linner and you can get them around $100 if you shop around. Cool or Cold weather I use a first gear suite tha is water proof and good for 10 degrees again around $119.
There are many others but I fell a few years back and the first gear hanlded it's business, no road rash

My wife and I both have the Overpass by HD. Heavy and bulky. Warm an dry. When it is real bad I use the Holiday Inn, Warm in winter and Cool in the summer. Comes with it 's own bar, bathroom and bed.... Aren't I a Smarta$$?
