my wife and i both have harley rain suits. you can use the approach i did on any kind. i went to the stealer, picked out the ones we wanted, tried them on for size, and then left...lol then i spent a little time scouring ebay and got what we wanted in the right size for much cheaper. the key here is patience. ebay isnt a retail outlet. you arent going to find what you want, when you want. just be deligent and it will pay off. i tried to impress this idea on my dad and it didnt work, he got impatient and just went to the store and bought the stuff..lol

I'm cheap and a fair weather rider. Bought my $30 set @ WalMart. Not pretty, but good enough to get me home or to shelter in case I get caught in the rain.

For the budget minded individual who's not a slave to fashion, I'd give this a try. Just get one of those chrome billet chin straps (I'm sure somebody makes one) and best of all it's camouflage so no one can even see it. Does life get any better...?

Hey, did Picaso care when people looked at his art and said things like, WTF? I for one, think not. The bad news is that they're back ordered!

Go to Boaters World, look at rain gear called "Against the Elements". It's two piece, purchased separately, so you can buy large jackets & small pants or vice versa. It's not made for motorcycles, so it doesn't have any cool logo's, & I've found it works best if you sew a strip of elastic across the end of the pant leg to act as a stirup to keep the leg down in the wind, but you can't get wet while wearin' 'em. Double flaps everywhere with zippers covered by rain flaps held down by velcro. Velcroed double sleeves that you can lap under & over gloves so long days in heavy rain doesn't result in those little leaks up your sleeve. Integrated hood so your helmet doesn't drip down the back of your neck.

My biggest problem with rain gear is visability (the cager seeing you). Cuz rain usually means no sun and vision reduced to 40 yards or less.
I want day-glo yellow. I don't care about "cool" biker black. I care about my *** (more for my wife's ).
I've looked at TourMaster, but not bright enough.

What about over your boots? I have leather boots that I've dressed with boot oil twice a year for over ten years...they still don't last 2 minutes in rain. I use a 2 piece HD rain suit large enough to fit over my leather, where I ride staying warm is almost as important as staying dry. I have used totes rubber boots to go over my riding boots, but I recently had my boots re-soled and the totes no long fit (had a more agressive hiking boot type sole put on). I don't end up in rain all that often, but don't like wearing heavier/hotter gear all the time "just in case". Don't really like what I have, but haven't found anything better.
I guess if I had to get somethingI would go with something like these:

Their made by Tour master and $18 and you can throw em on in a minute.
I've used these same overboots along with the Tour Master rainsuits for many years. The boots have a full length velcro / snap closure on the side, elastic strap around the bottom, and the heel is open.

This combo works great, will keep you dry, and won't break the bank.

HTH,
mixham

I've had two rain suits in the last two years. I had an el cheapo that I wound up loosing on the way back from Myrtle last year (dumbass attack!!!!). I replaced it with one of those nice spendy HD suits. You know what? I liked the cheapo better! It was tougher and kept me warm and dry as a bone.Better suspenders and stirrups, too! Usually you get what you pay for, but not necssarily so with rain suits. Just my .02.

Frog togs are great for the price, but don't let them touch your pipes, and they are not fun to clean off your pipes either, ask how I kow. My brother did it twice before he learned but he was always a little slower than me.
