It all depends on what you're using your rain gear for. I can't tell where you live, but I live near Tacoma, WA. I use my rain gear all winter, almost every day commuting 45 miles each way to work, to cut the wind and keep me warm (try not to ride in the rain too much). If you're using them day after day for any length of time, like me, then DON'T get Frogg Toggs, as they don't hold up for even a year. Mine piled and got holes really quick where they rubbed, and there's no heat protection (had to sew an ironing board cover on the left leg). Spent a little more money on the better Harley rain set, and I love them. I'm on my second pair, as my first pair got shredded in my accident in Nov. My first pair held up for 3 years of constant use for at least 4 months of the year.

I use AGV 2 piece set up.... with the mesh inside, it stays off you in the summer, and is wind proof if you're stuck in a cold snap.... they were about $80, but i got them for $60 something.....of course, there's a melted spot where I rested my leg against the pipe, but that was my bad....

Well, I live about 100 miles south of you so I'm living your "weather lifestyle". I'm buying them to use on a trip to Colorado this late-June. Gotta be prepared. I only live <10 minutes from my work so it's not worth the trouble to ride it in the winter. So I'm basically buying it for rain protection and don't want it to be to flappy in the wind while riding. My wife got the tour master sentinel coat and I tried it on and it's fits nice and has a lot of nice features for $60. I'm going to go check out the H-D gear you can buy as each piece and see if they are to my liking. But I may just end up with the tour master. Thanks everyone. That's why I love this forum!

I have a one piece BMW rain suit that is the best I've seen, but it's a pain to put on and take off and it's hot as hell in a summer rain. My wife has the two piece Tour Master and it's a lot more convenient to use, not as heavy. I like it more than mine. I have a bunch of dollar ponchos in my tour pak for those times that I want some protection, but not worried about getting a little bit wet. They're in a very small package, great in summer and if you leave it somewhere well it's only a buck.

My wife and I both have the Overpass by HD. Heavy and bulky. Warm an dry. When it is real bad I use the Holiday Inn, Warm in winter and Cool in the summer. Comes with it 's own bar, bathroom and bed.... Aren't I a Smarta$$?
I have the exact same suit. I thought I had the only one. Ain't WE both Smarta$$es? [sm=happybounce.gif]
