My biggest problem with rain gear is visability (the cager seeing you). Cuz rain usually means no sun and vision reduced to 40 yards or less.
I want day-glo yellow. I don't care about "cool" biker black. I care about my *** (more for my wife's ).
I've looked at TourMaster, but not bright enough.
Three words: Aerostich Hi-Vis. Looks like hell, but they'll see it. Like others have said, it doesn't fit into the Harley mold, but screw it. On long touring rides, I take the Hi-Vis Darien with black pants.

Here is a link to the Hi-Vis:

Aerostich Dariens are great. They just don't fit into the Harley standard, more commonly found with BMW or IronButt riders. I've worn them for many years and I can't see how leathers would be better for touring. I had an accident at about 50 MPH in 2001 while wearing my Dariens; no road rash or other abrasions but eight broken bones and a severely damaged helmet.
I've owned two Roadcrafter one piece suits and now a Darien. The first Roadcrafter died saving my skin on a 60mph getoff at Deals Gap. Let me tell ya, high sides ain't no fun. (Well, the flight was nice, but the landing was a little rough). Broken wrist, but no road rash. My second Roadcrafter one piece has been worn almost daily for 8 years now, and is still 100% servicable. Expensive, yes, but good stuff always is. I bought the Darien for this coming season as I HATE HATE HATE stopping and doing the roadside rainsuit dance under the overpass while 18 wheelers blow 12" by you at 80mph. Now, when it rains, I'll just keep on riding.

Around town, and local rides, I wear zip together black leather two pice suit, jacket and pants. I plan to add a good vented Vanson leather jacket to the kit before the heat of summer.

I may not fit in well here, as I wear all the gear all the time (ATGATT). I've been down four times in 22 years and well over 300,000mi on two wheels, and was in full gear each time. No road rash yet. I'd rather sweat than bleed. You can't have too much kit.

Well I want to weigh in on Frogg Toggs - If you really need rain gear these things suck. Just about every rider I have known that has put them through hard rain over any distance has ended up soaking wet. I really felt bad for a friend of mine when his failed fifty miles into a five hundred mile ride. About three hundred and fifty miles into it me and another rider loaned him what dry spare gear we had. Don't buy Frogg Toggs they have a very high failure rate.

Go to your local metric cycle plaza. Buy a full set ofdeluxe rain gear (minus the HD logo)for about $60 (on par for the same suit sold at HD for $200). A $60 rain suit will keep you just as dry as some $600 Gucci peice of yuppy artdecorated withthree racing stripes and designed for casual snowmobiling.

The reason I suggest buying local opposed to mail order.....you can try it on and get the right size (over the clothing you would be riding in).

Do avoid the $9 yellow sets sold at Academy (the tiny bits or flying yellow tearing away will distract other riders behind you....plus once shredded, you'll look like some nautical reject who never made it off Gilligan's Island).

Finally,go to the HD dealer and buy a set of their Rain Gattor Lug Sole(best product they make and the best $40 you can spend on your feet when it's wet). These gattors go over the toe and cover the front of the sole. The bottm iscovered with a traction pad that works so well youcould walk up the slime inside of Britney's thighs and never miss a step. They are easy-on/easy-off and dry in a few minutes.

A good rain suite from any number of manufactures.

I have ridden in the rain wearing Frogg Toggs and stayed quite dry.
Frogg Toggs come in a few different models; you might check around a bit more.
